Villanova, Virginia still plan to play in 20-21

Villanova and Virginia still plan to play during the 20-21 season, Wildcats head coach Jay Wright said early on Saturday morning.

The official date and location remains to be determined.

The two teams were initially slated to play a neutral site game at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 19th.

There is still no official word on whether or not the World’s Most Famous Arena will be able to host college basketball games during the upcoming season. The Empire Classic — which was originally slated to be played at Madison Square Garden — has been moved to Mohegan Sun.

Villanova is ranked first in the ROTHSTEIN 45 while Virginia is fifth.
