UMass transfer Tre Mitchell has committed to Texas, he told College Hoops Today on Tuesday.
The 6-9 big man averaged 18.8 points and 7.2 rebounds last season.
“I loved everything about Texas when I was there,” said Mitchell, who visited the Austin campus this past weekend. “I feel like they have a good game plan in place.”
With the addition of Mitchell, Texas is now SIXTH in the ROTHSTEIN 45.
“Chris Beard has put together a really good team,” Mitchell said. “He’s very high energy and he isn’t afraid to coach you. That really drew me to Texas’ program.”
Mitchell is expected to arrive in Austin as early as next week.
