UConn transfer Corey Floyd Jr. has committed to Providence, he told College Hoops Today on Sunday.
A 6-3 guard, Floyd is a former Top-100 recruit who redshirted last season with the Huskies before opting to enter the transfer portal.
“Coach Ed Cooley was the first person to call me once I entered the transfer portal,” Floyd told College Hoops Today. “They recruited me hard out of high school and the love was still there this time around.”
Providence finished 27-6 last season and lost to Kansas in the Sweet 16. With five of the Friars’ top six scorers from a year ago no longer in the program, Floyd should have an opportunity to be an immediate contributor next season.
Providence is currently ranked 45th in the ROTHSTEIN 45.
