Things To Sample

Braylon Mullins instantly became a March Madness legend
There are certain moments that are cemented in the fabric of the history of the NCAA Tournament. Another one happened on Sunday night in Washington D.C. After erasing a 19-point lead, UConn forced a turnover down two with about 10 seconds to play, setting up a 40-foot shot by Mullins to send the Huskies to the Final Four for the third time in the past four seasons. It was straight euphoria. This program has had many memorable moments under Dan Hurley over the past few seasons, but no victory was as dramatic as the one that sent UConn to the Final Four next week in Indianapolis. Mullins is officially a March Madness legend — forever.

For the second straight year, Duke experienced the Dark Side of March
Last season, the Blue Devils dominated Houston in the Final Four for the majority of the game only to let a significant lead slip away in the final minutes. A similar script unfolded on Sunday night against UConn. Duke had things aligned to return to the Final Four for the second straight season, but ultimately let another golden opportunity to play for a national title slip through its fingers. This is the dark side of March.

Yaxel Lendeborg is treating the NCAA Tournament like a video game

After a modest, nine-point, four-rebound, four-assist performance in Michigan’s opening round game against Howard, Lendeborg has exploded like a volcano during March Madness. The 6-9 forward has been a monster during the Wolverines’ last three games and is averaging a whopping 25.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists during that span. Dusty May’s squad will square off with Arizona next Saturday in the Final Four in Indianapolis.
