Barring something unforeseen, Indiana is expected to hire New York Knicks assistant Mike Woodson as its next head basketball coach, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation.
There is no timetable on an official announcement.
One source said that the two sides were working out specifics of a deal on Sunday.
Woodson replaces Archie Miller, who was fired 13 days ago.
The 63-year old Woodson played for Bob Knight from 1976-80, but has never coached in college.
He was previously the head coach of both the New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks.
