DePaul has agreed in principle to hire Oregon’s Tony Stubblefield as its next head basketball coach, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation.
There is no timetable for an official announcement.
Stubblefield’s deal is for five years, according to a source.
Known as an elite recruiter, Stubblefield was instrumental in Oregon’s success under Dana Altman and served as the Ducks’ primary recruiter. He also worked under UCLA coach Mick Cronin at Cincinnati.
He replaces Dave Leitao, who was fired on March 15th.
