Prior to a pair of head coaching changes, Iowa and Xavier agreed to home-and-home series

Prior to a pair of recent head coaching changes, Iowa and Xavier agreed to a home-and-home series that would begin next season in Iowa City, a source told College Hoops Today.

There was slated to be a return game at the Cintas Center during the 2026-27 season.

Official dates are TBD.

Iowa recently hired Drake’s Ben McCollum to replace Fran McCaffery while Xavier hired New Mexico’s Richard Pitino to replace Sean Miller, who left for Texas.

McCaffery was reportedly expected to be the next head coach at Penn.

There is no timetable on an announcement for the home-and-home series between Iowa and Xavier.
