The new rendition of the Pac-12 — which will feature Gonzaga, San Diego State, Oregon State, Washington State, Boise State, Utah State, Colorado State, Fresno State, and Texas State — will play a true, double round-robin 16-game conference schedule when league play begins during the 2026-27 college basketball season, multiple sources told College Hoops Today on Thursday.
There is no timetable on an official announcement.
With college basketball teams set to play 32 games next season, that means that teams in the Pac-12 will be able to schedule 50 percent of their regular season schedule — 16 non-conference games — in an effort to put together at-large resumes for the NCAA Tournament.
That type of flexibility can’t understated in this current climate, especially for brands like Gonzaga and San Diego State who are regularly in position to play marquee games in November and December.
Four teams that will play in the Pac-12 next season — Gonzaga, San Diego State, Colorado State, and Utah State — qualified for the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
