What can Posh Alexander do for an encore?
According to Mike Anderson, it all depends on the type of jump that the 6-foot guard can make offensively from his freshman to his sophomore season.
“That’s going to be his next step,” Anderson said of Alexander this week on the College Hoops Today Podcast. “We’ve got more guys now that are a threat to score. That will help him. I think the mid-range game is going to be important for Posh and he also hopefully can emerge and be one of the top assist guys in our league and in the country.”
St. John’s was 11-2 last season when Alexander scored in double figures and 7-0 in games where he made multiple three-point shots. He was also the Co-Big East Defensive Player of the Year with UConn’s Isaiah Whaley and averaged 10.9 points, 4.3 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.6 steals.
The Red Storm were 16-11 last season and are a combined 33-26 in two years under Anderson.
St. John’s is currently ranked 37th in the ROTHSTEIN 45.
