Fred Hoiberg senses the urgency and it has nothing to do with the fact that Nebraska is set to play Creighton on Tuesday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
“I know that we’ve got expectations this year and we need to deliver,” Hoiberg said Monday on the College Hoops Today Podcast. “I love where we’re at with our roster. But now we’ve got to go out and do it.”
The Huskers are 1-1 after two games and had a disappointing loss to open the season against Western Illinois.
Nebraska has recalibrated its roster thanks to a slew of transfers and the addition of five-star freshman Bryce McGowens, who is averaging 27 points and 5.5 rebounds through his first two games.
Tuesday night’s tilt against Creighton feels like the biggest game that this program has had since Hoiberg was hired in 2019.
