Craig Smith took the Utah job because he wanted a bigger platform and bigger expectations.
Less than in a month in to tenure in Salt Lake City, he’s not running away from either.
“Our goal is to to get to the NCAA Tournament,” Smith said Monday on the College Hoops Today Podcast. “How are we going to do it? I don’t know yet. That road will take its course.”
Smith was a combined 74-24 over the past three seasons at Utah State and led the Aggies to multiple NCAA Tournament berths.
Utah finished 12-13 last season and hasn’t reached the NCAA Tournament since 2016.
