Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski is stepping down following the conclusion of the 21-22 season, a source confirmed to College Hoops Today on Wednesday.
An official announcement is expected soon.
Associate Head Coach Jon Scheyer is expected to be named Krzyzewski’s successor in short order, according to a separate source.
The 74-year old Krzyzewski led Duke to five national titles and 12 Final Fours during his tenure in Durham, which began in 1980. During that time, he accumulated 1,170 wins, which is the most in Division 1 history.
He also led USA men’s national team in three straight gold medals in the Olympics.
The Krzyzewski news was first reported by Stadium.
