
The Big East and Big Ten are close to finalizing an agreement to continue the Gavitt Games, with all 11 Big East teams likely to participate during the 2024-25 season, multiple sources told College Hoops Today.
There is no timetable on an official announcement.
Only eight Big East teams currently participate in the Gavitt Games.
UConn — the defending national champion — has never participated in the Gavitt Games.
College Hoops Today previously reported that the Big East and the Big Ten were in advanced discussions to renew the Gavitt Games agreement beyond the 2023-24 season.
A separate source also told College Hoops Today that there remains major momentum to begin the 2024-25 season with the Gavitt Games, with games being played on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday of the first week of the season.
This season’s Gavitt Games will be played between Nov. 13th and 17th. A full list of matchups can be viewed HERE.
