Auburn’s Johni Broome is College Hoops Today’s National Player of the Year

This is March!

That means it’s time for some end of season awards.

Check out below for an in-depth list of the top players in college basketball during the 2024-25 season, featuring the College Hoops Today National Player of the Year and our first, second, and third team All-Americans:

College Hoops Today National Player of the Year

Johni Broome, Auburn : Why is Broome the choice here and not Duke’s Cooper Flagg? It’s really simple. The 6-10 Broome is the best player on the best team in college basketball in a year where the Tigers won an outright SEC regular season title in a league that still has 14 teams in contention for the NCAA Tournament. Meanwhile, the ACC — where Flagg and the Blue Devils play — only has three teams — Duke, Louisville, and Clemson — that are locks to their names called on Selection Sunday. The caliber of opponent matters when you’re trying to decide an award of this magnitude.
