South Carolina transfer Jermaine Couisnard has committed to Oregon, he told College Hoops Today on Thursday.
“I was looking for a school that I would be able to make an immediate impact,” Couisnard said. “The most important factor was Chuck Martin, who recruited me at South Carolina and is now the new assistant coach at Oregon. I am excited to go into this next chapter with him as an Oregon Duck.”
Oregon coach Dana Altman hired Martin as an assistant last month to replace Chris Crutchfield, who recently became the head coach at Omaha.
A 6-4 guard, Couisnard averaged 12 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.5 rebounds last season.
Oregon finished 20-14 last season and reached the Postseason NIT.
