Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe is the College Hoops Today National Player of the Year

This is March!

That means it’s time for some end of season awards.

Check out below for an in-depth list of the top players in college basketball during the 21-22 season, featuring the College Hoops Today National Player of the Year and our first, second, and third team All-Americans:

College Hoops Today National Player of the Year

Oscar Tshiebwe, Kentucky: There was no clear cut choice for this award this season, but Tshiebwe’s play over the last few weeks was a difference maker. His recent four-game stretch where he averaged 21.5 points and 16 rebounds ultimately pushed him ahead of Wisconsin’s Johnny Davis. The 6-9 big man has had 16 games this season with 15 or more rebounds and five games with 20 or more rebounds. His averages of 16.9 points and 15.3 rebounds are something out of a video game. Prior to Tshiebwe’s arrival in Lexington this season, the two best statistical rebounders that had ever played for John Calipari were Anthony Davis and Julius Randle, who each averaged 10.4 rebounds during their one season of college. Tshiebwe averages almost five rebounds more each time he takes the floor.
