Arizona State transfer Alonzo Verge has committed to Nebraska, he told College Hoops Today on Thursday.
He will be immediately eligible for the 21-22 season.
“It just felt like home,” said Verge, who averaged 14 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists last season for the Sun Devils. “It felt genuine. I feel like I can learn a lot from the coaching staff.”
The 6-2 guard should form a potentially potent perimeter troika with Nebraska’s Trey McGowens (10.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists) and five-star freshman Bryce McGowens, who are brothers.
“I think our perimeter can be really special,” Verge added. “I think I can help the program get to where it wants to be.”
The Cornhuskers are entering their third season under Fred Hoiberg.
Verge was an early entrant to the NBA Draft and withdrew on Wednesday.
