“It’s huge,” Johnson said of Minnesota’s home court on this week’s edition of the College Hoops Today Podcast. “In the Big Ten, it’s so hard to win on the road. You have to be able to rely on those fans night in and night to bring the juice and bring the energy. The Barn has that. There’s not a better fan base in the country. We’ve got to get that back. We want to make The Barn the toughest venue in our conference for opposing teams to play in.”
The 40-year old Johnson played for the Golden Gophers from 2002-04 and also was an assistant coach under Richard Pitino from 2013-18. He has never been a head coach.
