Porter Moser took Loyola Chicago’s basketball program to new heights before taking the Oklahoma job this spring.
Would he ever return to the Windy City to play the Ramblers as head coach of the Sooners? Don’t rule it out of the realm of possibility.
“I’m open to it,” Moser said this week on the College Hoops Today Podcast. “But not until the players that I recruited aren’t there because that’s always hard. I’m going to have an eye on those guys — those guys are family. I want Drew (Valentine) to have success.”
Valentine was Moser’s assistant prior to his recent promotion to head coach and returns a team that is currently ranked 28th in the ROTHSTEIN 45.
Moser led Loyola Chicago to the 2018 Final Four and to the Sweet 16 this past season.
He averaged 23.4 wins during his final five years with the Ramblers.
