Texas Tech will promote assistant Mark Adams to head coach, according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation.
An official announcement is expected soon.
Adams was largely responsible for Texas Tech”s defense under Chris Beard, who took the Texas job last week.
The Red Raiders lost to Arkansas in the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.
