
Matthew Hurt has taken a major step forward as a sophomore and it’s caught the eye of the man who will be coaching against him on Tuesday night.
“He’s a terrific player,” Virginia Tech coach Mike Young said of Hurt Monday on the College Hoops Today Podcast. “The improvements he’s made to his body and his game are interesting to watch.”
The 6-9 Hurt is averaging 19.6 points and 8.1 rebounds for Duke as a sophomore after averaging 9.7 points and 3.8 rebounds as a freshman.
The Hokies are currently 9-2 are ranked 20th in this week’s edition of the ROTHSTEIN 45.
