Tony Bennett has complete confidence in Sam Hauser and the transfer from Marquette has yet to play a game for Virginia.
Why does Bennett feel that way?
“He’s very clear on who he is as a player,” Bennett said of Hauser Monday on the College Hoops Today Podcast. “He understands the game. He knows what he’s good at it. That’s rare for someone of that ability. He’ll do whatever you ask him to do.”
The 6-8 forward redshirted last season and should add instant offense for a Virginia team that averaged just 57 points a year ago.
The Cavaliers finished with a 23-7 overall record last season with a 15-5 mark in ACC play.
Hauser averaged 14.9 points and 7.2 rebounds two years ago at Marquette while shooting 40.2 percent from three-point range.
Virginia is currently fifth in the ROTHSTEIN 45.
